imagine
同じ日本語の「〜思う」でも、imagine は、 think の 理性的な感じよりも、情緒的な表現になると思います。語義が、
1) to form a picture in your mind of what something might be like ,
2) to belieave something that is not true,
3) to think that something is probably true (= suppose,assume)
(こころに絵を描くようなことを述べる）ですからですが、以下の例文からその感じがつかめるといいですね。
Close your eyes and imagine that you are in a forest.
She imagined walking into the office and handing in her resignation.
I had imagined her to be older than that.
He`s always imaging that we `re talking about him behind his back.
"Can we still buy tickets for the concert?" "I imagine so."
