off and on の順

英語は　一組の語句 が論理やコロケーションに基づいて明解に定まっていますからほとんどの場合その順序を逆にすることはできません。例えば、　my friend and I, 　boys and girls, 　man and woman, 　ladies and gentlmen,　などたくさんあります。　また　on and off と　off and on のように　二通りの場合もありますが、その場合はそれぞれ異なった意味になります。医師のdiagnosing に　Does your stomach hurt all of the time? 　Or off and on? （　No,not always.　)　　などがありますが　　off が先に来るところは　biological and brain faunction　　に従っていて厳密だなあとおもいます。
