反比例？逆比例？それとも裏比例？
数学を学ぶとき、「AとBの2つの変数があり、Aが2倍、3倍に増加していくとき、他方Bもそれに伴って2倍、3倍と増加していく。このとき、AとBは（正）比例の関係にある」などといった、定義を学びます。英語でも、
The photoconductivity is proportional to the three-fourths power of incident light intensity. （光導電度は、入射光の強度の3/4乗に比例する）
と be propotional to 〜をもちいますが、反比例は、inproprtional,unproportional,dispropotional (いずれもそんな語はない)ではなく
The elongation of the bar is proportiona to the tensile force and to the length of the bar and inversely proportional to the cross-sectional area and to the modulus of elasticity. (棒の伸びは、引っ張り力や棒の長さに比例し、その断面積や弾性係数に反比例する)
と be inversely prportional to 〜を使います。そしてそれを反（比例）と日本語化していますが、これは英語性をそり落とした訳語ではないかというのが、わたしの長年の？感想です。inverse function(逆関数),inverse matorix(逆行列),inverse square law(物理、逆二乗重力則) と”逆”とするときもあり、一定していません。
現代数学は英語を介して日本に入ってきたものですから、 in(中に）＋ vert（裏返す） = ”裏返しに入れる”、つまり「裏比例」？のほうが英語性のその表現により近似ではとおもうのですが？？ ちなみに正比例する”は directly propotional が正式表現ですね。
